I hope everyone had a great December, for those of you who had holidays you got a chance to enjoy them and get some rest. Of course in the DJB, Xen has made sure we had plenty to keep us busy. I’ll cover what happened and what lay ahead so we can get ready for what should be a busy next month.
Imperial News Net
With the Scions deciding to attack Ohmen, and occupy the Imperial Palace. Xen went into hiding in the lower levels away from harm with most of his Praetorian Guard, while the rest of Scholae Palatinae was out on patrol and waiting for the attack.
As the different competitions would allude to in the event, everyone is coming together to take on the new threat and push them out. With quite a bit of destruction in the city and to the palace the long term implications are still pending.
Major Events
- Great Jedi War: The next GJW is the next event on the agenda. Xen covered this in his report but I will briefly cover it again. It is planned to run from Jan. 9th to Feb. 9th with 3 team events running the entire time, and other events that run the first and second half with a gap in between for fictional updates. We will make sure everything gets mentioned on the mailing list.
- Multi-Unit Event: After the GJW, we are planning an event with another unit. We have some rough plot details outlined and some idea of what we want to accomplish. Timing will be dependent on ironing out all these details but we have had great success so far in our discussions and I don’t see them stalling out. This will give some great opportunities to work with members from another unit and expand outward.
- Scholae Palatinae Battle Team Event: The next event planned specifically for the House will be sometime after the above items, so we’re probably looking at late March at the earliest. This is in early planning phases though but will once again have our 3 teams up against each other again for scoring and placement.

Projects
- Wiki: The Looking Home Campaign was formed out of a major review of the wiki by Xen and I about a year ago. A combination of that and the Dark Crusade dragging us to little known worlds we wanted to focus energies on our own. With that ending, we can start to form a more perfect Empire (if that’s the way to put it). Look to see a final wrap up of Judecca on the wiki first, followed by some structural updates, then pending some fleet restructuring out of the GJW a final sweep of the whole thing. Sustainability being the key. It’s unwieldy at best.
- Imperial Command: I assumed the Careers bit from Xantros, and transformed it into what will be Imperial Command in the future. I’ve written a bit on where my head is at on this one but overall I think it will align best with what we all want to achieve fictionally. Just so you know what I’m working on to help us all have fun being awesome Dark Jedi in the future. Or fighter jocks as it were.

Closing
There are many new members to Scholae Palatinae since we started the Looking Home Campaign and things certainly look different as we near the end of it. I feel like we have learned a lot about running competitions, what types of things people enjoy, and how to make everyone’s time as part of our community valuable. We are here for fun, and we do that collaboratively. We will see more vendettas in the coming year, some events working with other units so get a chance to work with new people, and kicking off one of several different plot lines Xen and I have discussed in the past. We have a good idea of where to go from here, but as always we welcome a conversation at any time that may help improve it.
