ACC Hall changes

Hey all,

I have just finished making a few changes to the ACC Halls. The Combat Centre and Quick Skirmish Halls have been merged, with Quick Skirmishes' -slightly modified- practices having become normative. That is, you will now be granted Clusters of Ice and the possibility for a Pendant of Blood in Combat Centre matches, while all matches within the Hall are officially counted as wins and/or losses on your formal ACC record.

The motivation in doing so was mostly that the Quick Skirmish Hall has, for some time now, more or less replaced the languishing Combat Centre as the Brotherhood's 'true' main Combat Hall. It more closely resembles the ACC matches played in Vendettas and has more finished matches, as well as a much lower percentage of matches that time out. However, we do not want to take away the possibility for anyone to have their match take as long as they like, so it is still possible for ACCers to request a longer (or shorter!) posting time in their challenges.

Due to some coding difficulties with the way posting limits are set up, the merger is currently done by placing the old Combat Centre (now renamed Classic Hall) as a subhall for the new one. When it becomes possible to merge the two (a feat depending mostly on Halcyon's ftp knowledge and/or the vigorousness of your prayers to the Orv), we will do so, but I put together the current setup so as to clearly communicate the ACC's eventual structure.

Cheers,

-Tim

nice change Tim. Makes things move faster at the ACC but you have not removed the old way of doing a match. Good job Tim!!!!!

Huzzah for more ACC match types getting you official wins and losses! cheers

Also, I'm sacraficing Code Monkies to the Orv. In a volcano.

honestly, it'd probably be easier to archive both halls and open a new one :)

nonetheless - here's to a breast of fresh a**...err...a breath of fresh air :)

Nah. There's a coding issue. Right now, a Hall can either be set to a definitive post amount ('2' for Combat Centre, giving you 2+2 matches), or to '0', giving you a wider range of options.

Also, if I open a completely new Hall, I will not be able to to retain that awesome "Hall ID: 3" the way the old-style Combat Centre has. :P

Since I cannot edit that, an addendum to the above: 'wider range of options' does not include all the options I want (specifically, it misses 2+2 and 4+2). Hence the current setup.
